Weekends are always short! Damn, Monday always says hi to us unexpectedly.
Anyway, I had a real good weekend. Hmms, Friday night’s KTV with colleagues was rather fun! Although only 7 were there, I had an enjoyable time with them. My singing wasn’t very good but who cares. Haha. It was kinda difficult for us to start the ball rolling cos still don’t know what songs to choose I guess, but I totally love the last part when we sang the K歌之王. We had mic passed for every one/two choruses… A tired but fun night.
Saturday was the start of my Jap class… Wow, another good time of laughter by talking rubbish in Japanese… I think the atmosphere is really different between the pre-advanced class and the advanced class. There was more stress in the pre-adv class cos one of the main goals was to get the students to be sharp during conversation. At that time the students did not have confidence to speak, but man, in adv class, looks like we’re all quite ok, with more confidence. But still, scared of teacher’s arrow! Haha.
Sunday was a total slack day. Err well not really. Slept till 11am (though wanted to wake up at 8.30am with the alarm set). Had drama marathon, plus a little packing of the room. Better for now but still have lots of things to be thrown away.
Just one more week for CNY! But this year, don’t really feel like going for CNY leh. Cos only meet the cousins once a year, but not as close as we are compared to the younger days. See how it goes la. Have also decided not to go overseas cos it’s darn farking expensive.

Had a hair cut after work. Find Jurong Point’s salons are rather expensive (range 25-29 bucks), so was checking out if there was anywhere I could cut my hair not too far from my house. Thus Choa Chu Kang was a place in my mind. I almost regretted going there cos EC House was the only “salon” that I found at the mall, but it looked like it wasn’t a wasted trip after all. The price was stated $18.80 for the hair cut, so I went in to check it out.
To mention, the place was Professional Hair Studio (see this insing link for address). Looks like nothing much there was professional after all. Hmms here’s the ratings I can give out of 5:
So in conclusion,
$10: below average cut, average service
$20: average cut, average service
$25 & above: good cut + good service.

Yep this is old news, but congrats… to the K drama Cruel Temptation (aka 妻子的诱惑)! Really loved the show a lot… But due to my gym schedules, I have to watch it online… (click on the image)
I love the korean version! It definitely sounds much nicer than the Mandarin one. And you must be asking why I’m congratulating them?
Cos they’ve lots of received lots of awards from the show! Here’s the clips from youtube:
I don’t understand what they’re talking about though… Hope to learn the language if I’ve got time!

Breaking News:

City Harvest Church has acquired a piece of land in central-south Singapore with the intention of building a 12,000-seater hall at S$310 million, said the church’s senior pastor, Kong Hee. He disclosed the news at a service at the Singapore Expo on Saturday. The exact location of the land will only be made known once the acquisition is complete. City Harvest Church has the largest Christian congregation in Singapore estimated at 27,000.
All I can say is, congrats, city harvest! Really thank God for answering our prayers for these 5 years. The amount sounds very scary but I believe that God is going to provide for us.

On the recent debate on the latest McDonald’s promo on the Doraemon’s supposedly-to-be-zodiac-signs collectible items, many people seem to agree that it has somehow, left out the pig from the 12 animals.
From the Strait’s Times Forum, a particular writer actually emailed to ask to confirm if this is supposed to be the Chinese 12-animal-zodiac collectibles. But it seems like there is a reply (tweak?) from McDonald’s themselves:
McDonald’s said that as Valentine’s Day coincided on the first day of the Chinese New Year, it decided on Cupid.
It also stated that its Doraemon lucky charms promotion was never intended as a zodiac collection.-Tan Chin Kwang (link above)
My qn:
- a bit too early for this promo, then? VDay is still a few weeks away. plus, this year is also not the year of pig…
- If they are not intended to be zodiac signs, then why the 11 other animals that matches?
For as why this “pig” is removed from the collectibles, I leave for you guys to your own conclusion.
But there is one thing I’m thankful, that
Singapore enjoys the racial harmony regardless of our differences. We probably knew the price of racial harmony, and I guess as Singaporean, (I) have the mindset of “大事化小事,小事化无事”. thus, whether it’s a pig or not, I’d probably not get those collectibles (before they end up in SPCA. *ok not funny*). ^_^

The following shows the report of an ang moh country comparing both of the phones:
I was comparing the differences between the upcoming google phone (which was actually made by HTC) and iPhone, and it seems like iphone still wins for now… Check out the tech specs (pics below, check link for full one).
There is another youtube video from whoever-that-is, comparing on speed, usability, and the most aweful ringtone.
To me personally, I think iPhone is still a better choice, with my personal choice of selection in RAM & diskspace (iPhone wins), slimness (iPhone wins) and weight (iPhone lose even it’s thinner?!)

iPhone:

However I don’t think I’ll get this anytime soon cos both has camera. :\
